Mud Racing Inspires Even Till Today

In U.S mud racing has become a common phenomenon with all sorts of runners racing with colourful paint and by crossing barriers. But over the years the running industry has changed in its form. The entire racing is about reaching the destination with enjoyment rather than trying to set any record.

The change has occurred primarily due to the evolution of the ancient forms of racing called the Spartan race and the mud race. These are the traditional races which according to the reports suggest that more people participate in these events. The numbers keep on increasing every year. Non traditional events are also gaining in popularity because of the changing lifestyle of the people. The world is inching closer to the natural phenomenon be it in terms of farm fresh fruits and vegetables or sports.

More than a trending practise it has become an awareness drive. The marathons are not as established but it is sheer joy which drives the people to take part in it. Obstacle race is the latest trend which people are indulging in. Sometimes it is to give a boost to the economy. The sport of running is also making a mark in the industry with more and more women taking part in the sport and changing the dimension of it. Of course, competition is the prime motive of running but it is the participation which matters the most.

The apparel industry of the sports is what has increased in its numbers. The future of running seems to be bright. When it comes to the cost of the sport it is not considered to be an elite sport. But the participants are usually those who have high income, high education and employment under their belt. This presents a contrasting picture as far as running is concerned.

Fawke Shines At 10 k Market Drayton Road Race

Kim Fawke impressed her fans once again with an amazing performance that helped her to retain her winning title intact at 10k Market Drayton road race.

Yes it was quite an erratic ambience with cool wind and heavy rain but nothing could deter the Telford veteran from her title goals. The 38-year-old lady runner who is an erstwhile AC Telford member, presently represents the Centurion Running.

Kim commenced her race with an amazing start that saw her coming out clear of her chasing pack in no time. It was a great challenge for Kim to find how many of her male counterparts she could actually leave behind.

The veteran athlete maintained the pressure relentlessly throughout that catapulted her towards a great triumph within a time limit of around 35 minutes & 13 seconds. It was more than 3 minutes clear in comparison to Kim’s closest rival.

The magnitude of Kim’s great performance was stressed by her thirteenth rank overall in the field of around 1,796 finishers. Clare Thurgood (2013 runner up ) from Orion Harriers faced a much stronger competition this time as she fought throughout with Clarke (Michelle) from Telford AC.

The competition for the 2nd place was o knife edge till finishing mark where Michelle made final last strike to zap the chase verdict by a single second in around 38:18.

A 6-runner squad contested the primary lead in men’s race yet as the chase unfolded it got restricted to the great trio including Joe Brocklehurst from Shrewsbury, Meirionnydd RC’s Tom Roberts & James Skelton.

Skelton fell away first whilst Tom caught up the pace and even left behind Brocklehurst. It was Roberts who came up with quite a commendable victory within 32 minutes & 31 seconds.
